Get to know Madeline!
Madeline specializes in visual documentary storytelling, offering various services including creative storytelling, artistic portraiture, and video. Her focus is on serving the creative documentary market and editorial clients with a unique artistic perspective, through her background in graphic design. All of Madeline’s work aims to share compelling narratives through an artistic eye, leaving her audiences feeling something they didn't feel before and ultimately, striving to push the boundaries of traditional storytelling.

Madeline is currently a student at Western Kentucky University studying to get her Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism and a minor in Digital Advertising. The Student-Athlete on the Cross Country/Track and Field team has learned the tough skills of managing her time, from telling stories through her camera to running circles around a track.

The Louisville, Ky. native arrived to Bowling Green freshmen year with no prior photography knowledge other than a strong passion for the art. Since joining the photojournalism program at WKU, the quick learner has grown in her technique and people skills.

Her eagerness to get involved is a direct result of her motivation to learn. From her time since joining WKU, she volunteers as a Labbie for the WKU Photojournalism lab, she was a 2022 Mountain Workshop Labbie and also helped for a short time as a student gallery assistant.

From a girl raised in Louisville who just found it enjoyable to take pictures, to a 3rd-year photojournalism student with more knowledge than she can think of, Powell has come a long way. She is expected to graduate in spring 2025 and is excited to see where the field of visual journalism and photography takes her.
